Best of Especially For Youth
Saturday I got to go to the Best of Especially For Youth. The first speaker (I never caught his name) talked about how we can get passed Mental Problems and how to "Win Life". It was really interesting and gave me some tips on empowering myself, learning to laugh at myself, loving myself, not overwhelming myself, and being myself. He quoted the scripture 1 Nephi 17: 20-21. It talked about how Lamen and Lemuel hated the experience they had in the wilderness and how they complained continuously. But then he talked about 1 Nephi 17: 2-3 and 1 Nephi 5: 27 and those talked about Nephi, who was in the same situation as Lamen and Lemuel, that him and his other brothers were happy in the wilderness and they were doing fine. As you can tell by these to different opinions that your attitude effects how you feel about a certain situation. The second speaker, Chad Kirby, talked to us about how we're all different but we're all God's children. He taught us about Mosiah 4:30 and how our thoughts can turn into your words, and how your words can turn into your deeds. The last speaker, Matthew Richardson, talked to us about our feelings. He started off in such a funny way, telling us about how some of his seminary students once sang this song "Feelings" and were singing and dancing to it. He could really tell that they had practiced this routine. He made a good point that feelings can influence us to do things we don't usually do. Such as fear. It makes us jump and scream and hide behind things. Usually you don't do this on an everyday basis right? He also told us about the scripture Matthew 16: 13-17 which talked about how Jesus asked his apostles what people thought about him. Then he asked what they thought about them, and one bore his testimony and told him about how he knows he was the savior and God's son. He also read the quote that said "The scriptures generally use the word voice which doesn't exactly fit. You may feel it instead of hearing it."

Sundance
On Friday I had the chance to go snowboarding. It was my very first time too. My first time up, I rode with my friend Brylee. We were freaking out all the way up and we HATED it! But once we got off we were better. But then I started down and it was so hard! It took me literally two hours to go down the mountain the first time. And towards the end, I took off my snowboard and sledded down. Then my friend Colton made me go down a second time. So I got up there and I did really well down the first hill, but then I got fed up with it and strapped out of my snowboard and again sledded down the rest of the mountain. Except this time it slid out from under me and Colton had to go down and get it. Gladly for me it didn't hit anyone and he was able to go get it. But since I was sore and tired I quit for the day! Then I sat in the lodge for at least 4 hours with Corbin and Mailey. That was my first and most likely only time snowboarding.

Marco Island, Florida vs. Wales, Utah
This past week Lisa and Roger went to Marco Island. It was 80 degrees most days, with tanning and sitting on the beach everyday. But while they did this, Lexes, Cameron, Whitney and Kyle were stuck in Wales. It was 10-20 degrees with homework and studying everyday. Lisa got to go seashell hunting on the beach while Gretta went momma hunting in the house. Lisa and Roger had a week together having fun, going out to dinner, and meeting new people. Whitney and Kyle had a week together with the kids, having fun playing mom and dad. This was our fabulous time, compared to each other. I think you can tell you had the better time.

TGI Friday!
Yesterday I had the chance to go to BYU with my sister. While she was in class I went to the bookstore and walked around campus. It was way fun to see where I'm going to be going to EFY and college soon! Well then on the way home it was snowing like crazy and Whitney's windshield whipper's bolt got loose so it started going all over the place. It got stuck with the other one a few times too so we finally pulled over in Mona. Whitney pulled off the other windshield part and we drove home with one windshield whipper. We were super lucky to have it on the driver's side! Then that night we went for dinner at Los Amigos. It's a Mexican restaurant. It actually an ok place to eat. That's how our Friday was!

Family Togetherness
This past three day weekend Reagan got to come home and see us. It's been a really long time since he's been home so it was great to have him here again! He came around six on Sunday. We watched The Shaggy Dog with him. It wasn't a crowd pleaser but that's okay. We still had a fun time watching it together. Then on Monday we just kind of hung around the house. It was still fun though because we talked about what was going on with us, and listened to dad's really old music. Then Reagan went home that night after seeing his friend Katherine. We can't wait to have him here again.

Snow + Cars = Bad Idea!
My mom was coming to get me and my friend Chelsey from my other friend Makayli's house. As we were about to pull out of her drive way, our car got stuck big time. It turns out tons of other cars have gotten stuck there too! But anyway Makayli and my mom got out and pushed the car while I drove, and it finally moved back. Well then I kept backing up and I backed up into a snow drift. Whoops! So we tried getting out and it did NOT work! So my dad had to finally come and pull us out with his truck. I am very greatful for whoever it was who invented the cell phone!

Wonderful Weekend
This past Sunday we had the honor to go to Provo and be with Reagan when he got his Patriarchal blessing. It was a really neat experience to hear what God's blessing about his future was. After the blessing, our big family went out for a good family dinner. It was fun to be around each other again and to talk about things going on with each of us. Then we went over to Whitney and Kyle's apartment to have some birthday cake for Kyle. (Happy late birthday Kyle!) Soon after we left for home so it wouldn't be too dark for us. But after we went through Nephi Canyon the weather was terrible! We could barely see the street markers through all of the snow. Luckily we could because those were the only thing that kept us knowing where the road was. It was funny to see Mom freak out whenever Dad did something she didn't like. But we finally got home safely and my parents are sure they never want to drive in bad weather ever again!
